Leadership fluidity
Excellent quote from Russell, my church leader, "leadership is like the oxygen in blood making the body work, oxygenated blood, alive, vibrant, " I like this metaphor ...

Watched video-clip about leaders destroying vision through oppressive guidelines and lack of empowerment and its effects on motivation & creativity. Has anybody read 8th habit ?

one of the benefits of getting older I am finding, is that I need less sleep. It's great working til the early hours.. I did it last night and don't feel too bad. Normally I would be nearly dead by now. Got a great afternoon ahead with my good mate Joe Fisher, i'm doing him a web , draft at http://pilgrim.typepad.com/joefisher. Any of you web geeks got feedback ?
Peace
Weekend over.... A new week opens up, speaking at a big weekend on trends in youthwork and mentoring/spiritual parenting, so some prep for that and lots of admin. Lord, fill me with a will to do the boring stuff... May this week be full of excellence for you . Help me Jesus to see what You are doing around me.. G'night
Had a great beer with an old mate on Wednesday, Ivan, head of RE at a local secondary school, a really interesting guy who used to be a Dave Tomlinson side-kick. He was so encouraging and we talked into the night. I love him and his dreams. God please make it happen for him.
Great conversation with Wes White from Glasgow Mosaic... he's a real thinker and they are trying some progressive and creative things in central Glasgow, where I used to live. God bless them all loads..
God's people are so amazing, bringing encouragement, bringing healing, bonding within seconds. Thnaks Father God for Your family
The kids have a half term and I can spend some of it with them. Tonight it's movie night with popcorn, tomorrow football in the drippy weather. Been reading a friend of mine, John Allan's articles on social justice as evangelism among young people..here Young People want to change the world, The Trinity wants to change the world, let's get them together and see what happens.
Watched this movie last night , it was about lawyers who sold out. Got me thinking about how Christians can "sell out" ?
I've flowed in waves when it comes to developing daily spiritual disciplines.. I thought why not use the web and mobile technology to help me...
these are just some the tools available, if you know of more, do contact me
I've got a dad who looks like Moses. Tonight we had a really long heart to heart, you can't beat it, even at 35 and 60 years old. I love you Dad! We prayed over the phone, it was a magical moment with the Lord feeling real close. He's a real example to me and I'm writing something for Him entitled "55 reasons why he is a quailty person, dad and minister. " He may have given me the bald head gene but he gave me some quality genes too. Thanks for the genes Dad, both biological and spiritual . Make poverty history. Steve
Been offered free Masters in Leadership at Marjons. I did start the same degree at Exeter University but then went to Glasgow. So now I should be able to finish it. I will publish all my work here so I can pretend that people are reading it.

Give me a mop . . .someone's about to spill some wine. Not intentionally, mind you. His church is "transitioning" again. This time into a network of house churches. It's the next thing. The new model. Latest trend. He says. And some people are going to leave and not come back. Consider it collatoral damage. A sacrifice. The price you pay for the change. For the next step. A decision towards progress that is too much, too soon, too hard, too costly. The straw that breaks the camel's back. The choice that pleases some and sends others away.
PS. A small bit of news to say that we're (adults & young people) planning a trip up to Edinburgh for the G8 demo in July - if anybody's interested in joining us with a group just let me know. At the moment we're doing it ecumenically in the Dorset neck of the woods, but there's no reason why we couldn't extend it. Becky Hughes Tel. 01392 671320
a new month, I don't want the monotony of work/life to suck the zeal from me... I want to still look at a new month as a time I can see God do some fresh things around our family...
He didn't stop being creative in fact science almost points to the continually creating nature of God. Erwin McManus speaks of creativity and releasing and nurturing it being key in developing Christian community and mission. As I have let my life be more filled with our creator God I've seen my arty-side develop almost exponentially ... not bad for a maths/sports science graduate. The Lord is making me fully human, leadership too is both a science and an art...discuss.
