eLearning - an article for me to visit and explore again

Link: eLearn: Feature Article.

E-learning as we know it has been around for ten years or so. During that time, it has emerged from being a radical idea—the effectiveness of which was yet to be proven—to something that is widely regarded as mainstream. It's the core to numerous business plans and a service offered by most colleges and universities.

Beautiful Quote for stressed out workers

eaLink: A Compound of Alchymie: Workflow.

Workflow is the convergence of work flow to achieve an optimal balance of work results and individual fulfillment. Business culture is breaking free of the industrial-age mindset that bottom-line results and worker happiness are natural enemies. Work can be among life’s greatest joys; flow drives a loyal, over-achieving workforce. Workflow research investigates how work and flow can converge to replace an unproductive either/or situation with a mutually beneficial worldview of both/and[sic]."

Geeking again

Geeking again ... My latest draft invention is www.jonestribe.co.uk/globalistic ... An arts, faith and social action project !

It's just incredible the creative power one can generate in 1 day with techie tools and software , a fully functional content managed interactive portal web community , it took me months to make my last one. Hey but it's one thing to facilitate community it's another to do it... but I guess that's what my role is at the moment .. Anyway another day or two to get it up and running.
May I now focus on my kids and wife this evening...

Today

Been geeking again with content management systems... Tonight some great time with kids, a jog, a session on my coaching course, then a deep sleep.

Sitting in Church listening

Paul's struggle in Collosians. Paul was bound up with the life of his churches, he loved as a Father's life is bound up with their child... To see Christ formed not "Christ and ... ",

You will repond to storms in the way you train.

Struggle is part of the life thing... Enjoy it !

Great day tomorrow

Loads of time with Toby, studying and meeting some great guys at SWYM conference maybe ?
this evening with my family, washing up, bathing and storying kids, may I seize these moments as divine as a walk along a sunset soaked beach, as Christ-centred as a wonderful worship time.

Jesus, closer than a brother, I am yours and You are mine. May I walk in your rhythms and listen to your melody in the mundane.

Jonestribe are going to be joining this.

Generous_logo_1

For 12 months more than 300 of us, spread all around the country, are attempting to support and inspire each other in a Year of Living Generously. It’s everything from putting a plastic brick in the cistern to reduce water usage, signing up as an organ donor, neutralising our air travel, switching to fair trade products or sharing a meal with someone outside our ‘comfort zone’. Equipping your church in a spiritual age

Equipping your church in a spiritual age

More on equipping day

Steve Hollinghurst - steve works in training folks for mission in new age fairs All this stuff is crucial to read, John Drane, Hollinghurst, the Spiritual Revolution -Heelas and Woodhead.

The challenge of language - I need to get his presentation

Notes on Evangelism in a spiritual age

Evangilism in a spiritual age

6 big questions people ask

Destiny, purpose, univers, God, supernatural, suffering People are open and interested, love visiting sacred spaces, admire Jesus, bible is respected, like authentic activist Christians, want to relate to God. Massive increase in R.E. Gcse's , cathedrals, catholic worship. Church is irrelevant, inflexible, intolerant, institutional, cold, formal, wordy, that's what people think.

Faithworks - notes on Plenary 2 Tim Costello

What are the guts of the gospel ?
There is confusion about the message of Jesus, Tim searched the gospels and what Jesus said. Give to the poor - poor neighbour is the guts of the gospel. The poor neighbour is fundamental to the message of the good news of the Kingdom.
How can I use what I am for the poor? Follow me - ... Why isn't the whole world following this God/Man ? He's so beautiful , so complete, so... ! I think I might explode too.
Just had UK Catholic Leader. Archbishop of Westminster, what a wonderfully humble man with a great sense of humour ... Spoke loads about Christ and His mission

Jim Wallis. Jesus the Politician

Faithworks tips from an activist pastor - book from Jim Wallis. Young people want an agenda to live for, there is a new generation . Children and Young People are ready and starting to move. "poverty is the new slavery" we need a new altar call, make poverty history.

Tony Campolo , who is 70 - radical Christ

Jesus was a revolutionary. Jesus was a nigger, oppressed, Isa 45. We need to learn to read the Bible through the eyes of the poor. Sell your possessions and give to poor. - did he mean it ? Yep ! "a God who doesn't take sides is irrelevant " "all authority comes through sacrificial love " quote from Max Webber (German Sociologist )

Steve Chalk seminar -living out your faith without imposing it on others

the harder we try, the harder it is, artificial ! Trained army - imposition .

Authentic is more important, seamless, real, raw. When the gospel isn't inside us then we need techniques, 4 laws, packages, etc..

walter bruggemann, "personal change moral exhortation doesn't work, tell them a different story about who they are." Imposition comes from insecurity, security in God is where the power to transform comes from.
Our method is dialogue/discuss not monologue.

Gospel invitations weren't in book of Acts. Even greatest sermon in NT Acts 2 is dialogue, there are no sermons in Acts .. Discuss and research more laterg..

our aim is conversion not Coersion

leave converts where they are, indigenous missional congregations

our goal is unity not uniformity

"breadth of the church is the strength of the church" Billy Graham quote, "life is Short" Steve is coming up 50. Frustration lives alongside vision. Learn to live with frustration - if it's not there - you have no vision. Great truth from one of the most visionary activists around.

Eastbourne in early morning

Eastbourne in early morning

Went for early morning pray along the seafront. The sun rose as I walked and I watched flocks and flocks of birds swirling across the sea to a warmer winter.

Faithworks

Faithworks

At the conference right now in main session, man this is amazing. Steve Chalk just nearly exploded sharing from his new book, intelligent church.. Basic premise our christology should inform our missiology which should inform our ecclesiology ... Not the other way round.. I must get to read this book when it comes out ...
Man, tony campolo is 70 and burning hotter ! JESUS WANTS US TO CHANGE THE WORLD Tony is really into Roman Catholic Mysticism Francis of Assissi, Julian of Norwich, Ignatius Loyola, he spends time saying the name of Jesus, submits and waits to be filled in silence, 15mins yielding in quiet.
