having a few days with family - beach, DIY, building terrain for modelling, whittling inventions like horses, fish, statues and other fine wooden sculptors !
Back to it tomorrow with some prep for our GO JAZZ night at NIGHTCHURCH and in Plymouth developing a resource centre for children's ministry in the city. Then putting together a module on organic, simple, smaller expressions of church for a bunch of theological students on Monday/Tuesday - so quite busy but good busy.
Manchester was good - got to see old Granny Betty, 90 years old ! And had a drink with my youngest bro' Anthony.

On the train to plymouth

Great sunrise views across the ocean out of my train window - this must be one of the best train journeys in UK. Having a day coaching someone setting up an arts charity - then NIGHTCHURCH tonight.. Great day. Then a weekend with tribe ... Off to my home city next week - Manchester - to speak to some folks on "mission in post-modern context". Great to be going back to roots - God bless Manchester!! I've been setting up two of my business sites this week - dadcoach and generous and a new version of jonestribe using this easy flash generator called swishmax 2 - I heartedly recommend it - I made www.nightchurch.org.uk with it. missionary thing stirring

The last few weeks have been really interesting as a new clarity has come to me - for those that know me it's been a real crossroads knowing what to focus on .. business ideas, wider extra-local ministry /speaking etc.. nightchurch excitements, new jobs, part-time ? full-time? wow !!!! It's been hard keeping it together to be honest.>>>>

So much of what is happening in the UK at the moment is about the church unlearning and putting on a missionary hat - seeing the UK through the eyes of a missionary and a missionary church. So I'm feeling a real peace to use that label for myself - "Steve Jones - having a go at doing the missionary thing..." focused around helping to grow churches, leaders and their movements ...
